The food that you eat, is broken down by your body into glucose. Another term for glucose is blood sugar.Blood sugar provides your body with the energy it needs, to do the things you want it to do.

When your body makes blood sugar from the food that you eat, it also produces insulin. The insulin is produced because the cells of your body need it in order to absorb the blood sugar.  If the cells of your body do not absorb the blood sugar, they will lack the energy that it provides.

The amount of insulin produced by your body, depends on the amount of glucose in your body.  The amount of glucose in your body is also called your blood sugar level.  A high blood sugar level, results in a large amount of insulin being produced.

Too Much Insulin In Your Body Prevents Fat Loss

Regulating the amount of Insulin that is released into your body, is the cornerstone of a fat burning diet. It is the deciding factor in terms of whether you will lose weight or gain weight.

In the presence of an oversupply of insulin after eating, your muscle cells take in the amount of blood sugar they need to provide you with energy.  The amount of blood sugar not needed by the cells of your body for energy, is stored as fat on your body. This results in flab.

Also, fat burning doesnt happen in the presence of an over supply of insulin.

If you habitually produce more insulin than your body needs, you will become fatter.

Missed Meals or Prolonged Periods between Meals

Not eating for 3 or more hours will cause your blood sugar level to drop below normal. In response, your body compensates for this by creating a sharp rise in blood sugar the next time you eat. This in turn creates a large amount of insulin production  and secretion into the blood.

Your failure to adopt an eating routine in which you eat something every 3 hours, during the hours you are awake, will condemn you to weight problems for the rest of your life.

Eating every 3 hours, is one of the pillars of a good weight management routine.
